Who We Are
Hey y’all!
I’m thrilled to finally put my baking out there and sharing my goodies with friends, family and Jersey City neighbors!
Most people know me as Chandler, a Southern transplant in Jersey City with a decade-long corporate PR career (Oh, and a yogi!). What they don’t know is that I grew up in Southern Virginia baking in the kitchen with my mom and Grammy. I may have just licked the spoons or whisks for a while, but it was always essential quality testing.
On a whim a couple years ago, I made hamburger buns from scratch… my love of baking just reignited. I loved it! After a lot of nudging from my boyfriend and Murphy’s other dad, Rich, I eventually started giving my baked goods to friends who - to my surprise - devoured anything I baked. One thing led to another, and now, I can’t wait to share my own homemade bread recipe with many more!
Murphy’s Bread is named after our adorable puppy, Murphy, who is obviously our number one mascot and advertisement. (Don’t worry he’s adequately compensated in belly rubs and treats.) He is a one-year-old Cavapoo who is always smiling and exploding with love and kisses to share. He’s the bestest boy in the universe and can’t wait to say hello to you at the Farmers Markets around Jersey City in the near future (and maybe on special deliveries). 😊
